City of God

I would like you to review City of God in detail. Make sure that you comment upon mise-en-scene, cinematography, editing, and sound. I would also like your opinion on the film. Please make sure you look at the film journal post on my blog to check you include everything I have requested. Have a great half term and make sure you are completely up to date as we will be starting on coursework upon our return!

Sound in Film

Choose a sequence from a film and analyse how sound is being used to convey meaning and how the spectator's reaction is being manipulated. I would like the sequence to be 10-20mins. Write 400-500 words.

Cinematography work

Choose a short extract from a film and examine closely a sequence of about 5 or 6 shots. On your blog, produce the following: 1. A description of each shot 2. An analysis of what meaning the camerawork is trying to convey. Use as many cinematography terms as you can. Refer to other films particuarly Leon. If possible provide screen shots for the sequence. Work during my absence

Whilst I was away ill I set work for you to complete on costume and makeup and editing. I know that this was given to you all but very few of you have uploaded any work (well done and apologies to those who have!). I am expecting to see evidence of this work during tomorrows lesson.
